The main city where the story takes place is not unlike Tokyo, for example, with characters traveling by car. Outside the city more “familiar” fantasy elements take root, including the ability to fight with swords and cast magic spells.
Designed by Kingdom Hearts’ creator Tetsuya Nomura, Versus XIII adopts a similar real-time combat system that allows players to string together combos and special attacks. Also featured are third-person shooter segments with a choice of ranged weapons.
