This device extracts the digital audio signal from the HDMI input and converts it to 2 channel analog stereo output or 5.1 channel audio outputs.

The simple solution for your amplifier/soundbar/5.1 surround system/analog speaker that has no HDMI inputs, and compatible with various HDMI source devices that do not have a dedicated audio output.

Three Audio EDID Settings

2CH Mode: Set 2CH to get analog stereo. This converte extracts digital 2CH PCM audio from HDMI and convert it to 2CH analog stereo output through the 3.5mm jack.
5.1CH Mode: Set 5.1CH to get 5.1 digital surround. The SPDIF optical port supports incoming audio formats up to 5.1CH Dolby Digital and DTS.
PASS Mode: For 5.1/7.1CH PCM, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD and above, set EDID to PASS and connect HDMI output to your receiver directly.

Please Try following three methods if you experience no sound from output

Switch EDID Button
Switch the EDID audio switch in the front. Change it between 2CH, 5CH or pass.
Turn Off Dolby Digital Plus
Because TOSLINK (SPDIF) does not support Dolby Digital Plus, you need to turn off Dolby Digital Plus function of the input devices. Then the sound can go through the extractor.

a: Amazon Fire TV or Amazon Fire TV Stick
Settings – Display Sound – Audio – Dolby Digital Output – Dolby Digital Plus off

b: Apple TV
Settings – Audio Video – Dolby Digital – on

c: Chromecast
Chromecast plays the contents from your video source, please make sure to turn off the Dolby Digital Plus on the video source through the play devices.
If you use the HDMI to DVI or HDMI to VGA cable for the video, you may experience no audio out. In this case, please use HDMI to HDMI cable for the video.

Note:
1. The 3.5mm AUX output will not have sound if incoming is multi-channel (>2CH) audio.
2. If no video, please power up the TV, power up this extractor, then reset the HDMI source unit.
